Breakthrough, Or Not? COVID19/22

3 years? Pandemic pains, blues and unanswered thoughts. It’s just how this pandemic is going.

It’s a new year and it seems like not a lot has actually changed with this pandemic. Cases are skyrocketing again, break-through are running rampant due to Omicron, (I guess). It’s all very disheartening.

My husband and I are are fully vaccinated, boosted and generally play it safe. Though Monday morning the poor guy just couldn’t shake that feeling of awfulness one has when ill. The workaholic went home only after a few hours then nearly slept for 3 days. In and out of fevers sweets drenching the pillows and sheets. Totally run downed and lack of appetite with pains throughout his body. Diarrhea. Things tasted off (metallic) but still could smell and taste Those were the symptoms. We tested Monday with an at home and a negative result. Then tested Wednesday even though he was feeling much better by the end of the day, as if a switch tossed in the “all better” position. Still negative.

Perhaps just some other virus… It’s just, neither of us ever get sick, so it’s frustrating and we blame the unknown. Which we call COVID now.

Perhaps a breakthrough case that doesn’t show on at home tests?

I feel totally fine, so I did not feel the need to test, but maybe I should have? It’s just at home test are so hard to some by, I wanted to save it for one of our employees. In the event they felt ill.

BUT… What if my test showed a positive and his negative? Would that prove something worth sharing to the masses, or just make things more confusing for all that read about?

I’m annoyed that so many aren’t vaccinated and this “thing (COVID)” keeps lingerings. Though, I’m equally annoyed, that I personally know over ten fully vaccinated people that suffered. Some, truly suffered, a breakthrough case. How could I know that many people that had days of sickness after being vaccinated when they say “it’s rare” to have a breakthrough case. Is it Omicron? Super COVID?

Is this ever going to end? Or do we all eventually end up living with COVID one way or another?

All these unanswered, uncertainties are kind of maddening. Do you agree?
